Surreal....

Surreal in general means bizarre or dreamlike..(thank you Wikipedia)

This is exactly how I am feeling at the moment. This is the day Sean usually reports to Spring Training and the day that our journey of yet another baseball season begins. The 5 years Sean & I have been together, I have grown to dread this day. But this year, he is not on a plane on his way to places far away, he is not driving across the country to a new Spring Training facility....nope, he is HOME with me! Dont get me wrong, I love having my husband home with me and we are getting used to our new "normal".

I titled this post Surreal because I cant believe that this is what seems to be our new life together. That the baseball life may possibly be over for us. All our baseball family is getting settled into their new routines for the next 2 months, and I have to admit that I am a bit jealous that we are not there to experience that..pool days, bar-b-ques, and the girls watching our men in Spring games. I am never going to get to meet babies that I have watched grow in their Mommy's tummy's, I am never gonna get to see the newly married couples, and I am never gonna see faces that I am so used to seeing very weekend of Summer. Its so hard to believe!!!!!

We still very well may have baseball as part of our life. We are still praying that a team will call and give Sean the opportunity to continue chasing his dream. If not, then we will make a new normal. A normal where Sean can experience a TN Summer for the first time, where we can take vacations in a season other then Fall, and where we can have dinner together every night. Maybe then, our old "normal" will seem surreal, and dreamlike.
